Quality Laboratory Assistant NEW

We’re looking for a Laboratory Assistant for a SHORT TERM contract role in Waterdown, ON!

You will be performing frequent laboratory operations in a glass processing plant. This is a dusty, smelly and humid work environment.

MUST DRIVE TO SITE.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Collect samples from manufacturing floor, equipment and storage facility
Follow standard operating procedures and work instructions, eventually working independently
Test incoming raw materials and finished products, including loss on ignition, density, and size distribution
Perform particle size analysis on ground glass products
Prepare and test mortar cubes for compression strength
Assist with maintaining laboratory cleanliness and equipment calibration
Handle, organize and route the flow of product and raw material samples
All other duties as assigned

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or equivalent
Basic understanding of chemistry
Previous relevant experience is preferred, but not required
Ability to sit, stand, walk, climb ladders and stairs for prolonged periods and lift up to 50 lbs
Capable of working in loud, cold, and hot environments
Demonstrate close attention to detail and ability

Pay: $24/hr
Day shift Mon-Fri
